The Etowah Pregnancy Testing Center is a crisis pregnancy center dedicated to serving young women in our area. They serve women through pregnancy tests, counseling, education for pregnancy and maternity, referrals for counseling, housing, job assistance, and adoption.

David acts as an independent CHE and Neighborhood Transformation Consultant for the United Methodist Church. He practices NT in his neighborhood in Ohio and travels the globe as a CHE consultant working alongside Methodist missionaries.

What They Do

Way of the Cross is a local, multi-denominational ministry that feeds those living at or below the poverty line in Etowah County and teaches them through weekly Bible studies to adults and children. MeadowBrook is invested into Way of the Cross weekly as we have different teams each week prepare, cook, and serve the Thursday lunch meal at Way of the Cross. We also help out with their big Christmas event.

How to Pray for Them

1) The Lord will continue to use the ministry of Way of the Cross to show the love of Christ to our community. 2) Many people will come to faith in Christ through this ministry. 3) The Lord will continue to provide people to serve and resources for this ministry.

Good News Club

What They Do

Good News Club is a weekly afterschool program at Eura Brown Elementary and Striplin Elementary where MeadowBrook is able to love on children and share the good news of Jesus with them through Bible stories and other activities.

1) For more workers to join in the effort each week. 2) The hearts of the children would be softened to and transformed by the Gospel. 3) The impact of Good News Club would reach beyond the kids that are attending to their families and friends.

Open Hands of Etowah County

What They Do

Open Hands is one of our local mission efforts which provides food, clothing, and hygiene products to the people living at or below the poverty line in our area. Through Open Hands we also have the opportunity to engage them with our counselors as they have a chance to speak the Gospel to people and pray with them. We are working towards furthering the ministry in 2014 through offering job coaching and planning to plant a church.

How to Pray for Them

1) That we will continue to see numerous people come to faith in Jesus through the ministry of Open Hands. 2) As we kick off the job coaching, that we will be able to build deep, Gospel-centered relationships in which we will be a part of God transforming others. 3) Effectiveness in following up and discipling those who come to faith through Open Hands, that we will be able to gather them into a healthy and growing church.

Through CHE training and strategically designed teams, they empower the church to become a key influence in the renewal of the spiritual and physical health in communities.

 Nate is a SCORE International church planter and Erica is the director of Lily House, a ministry located in Juan Dolio that seeks to rescue women and their families out of a life of sexual exploitation so that the Gospel will transform them. Lily House is a wholistic approach in which Erica leads a group of women who weekly go out on the streets to build relationships with ladies in order to share the Gospel with them. Those who decide that Lily House is there chance at a new life are allowed to live at Lily House where they are discipled and given life skills that will allow them to provide for their families in new ways rather than going back to their old lifestyle. Their kids also are taught the Word of God through a day care facility.

How to Pray for Them

1) Lily House has now opened to the public a pastry shop, a beauty salon, and a gift shop that are all run by ladies who have been discipled and equipped through Lily House. What They Do

Raymond & Marisol work alongside Jose & Gaby Prado at the Hope Center, a Christian Crisis Pregnancy Center in Costa Rica. The Hope Center seeks to engage young women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy situation with the Gospel of Jesus while walking beside them to meet their physical and spiritual needs.

What They Do

Dr. Spears is a supervising surgeon at Tenwek Hospital in Bomet, Kenya who trains young African surgeons. Tenwek’s motto is, “We Treat, Jesus Heals”. It is a training hospital designed to train African doctors so that they will stay on the continent and treat those in need in Africa rather than migrating to America or some other western country. Not only does Tenwek focus on medical and surgical training, but also on discipleship and wholistic ministry as well. They aim to treat the whole person and to share the Gospel and how Jesus can transform them fully.

How to Pray for Them

1) For the African doctors and nurses that train at Tenwek, that they would come to faith, be discipled, and that the Lord would send them to other areas of Africa to be used to multiply disciples and heal people. 2) For further relationships with other hospitals throughout Africa and the world…that the Tenwek model would be replicated in multiple locations throughout the world. 3) Strength for Dr. Spears as she constantly invests herself into others for the glory of God.

Henry Montes Moffe

Henry is a Dominican national pastor and church planter, who is given to discipling others and raising up leaders who are faithful in making disciples and planting churches. God blessed Henry’s efforts in one part of the country and then called him to move to another part of the D.R. with far fewer churches that existed. Over his time in the north, the Lord continues to bless as Henry is seeing many come to faith and he is diligently pouring into faithful men and women, turning them into disciple-makers and church planters.

1) Through the efforts of Henry and those he has been pouring into, many disciples would be made and churches planted in that region of the D.R. 2) Vision for how to further multiply disciple-makers and church planters. 3) The Word of God to permeate the hearts and lives of the Dominicans in the north and transform them.

Moses Andruga

What They Do

Moses is a South Sudanese pastor/CHE trainer/translator extraordinaire from Pageri. Moses has partnered with NeverThirst on training projects as well as is our point man for the church planter training in Pageri. God has blessed many under the leadership of Moses and the CHE programs he has been a part of.

How to Pray for Them

1) That he will be able to multiply himself as a pastor and trainer and thus exceedingly multiply disciples and churches throughout South Sudan. 2) Grace in his studies and skills as he furthers his own learning so that he can faithfully and effectively lead others. 3) For his family as he travels to train and equip others throughout South Sudan.

Pajok

What They Do

Pajok is a community of Acholi people in which we have been engaged with since December 2012. The Lord has used MeadowBrook teams to conduct numerous trainings among the people over the years. Despite the civil war in the country, a church has been planted in Pajok (in an area called Bobi) through our local leadership there. There are also several children and youth ministries going on as well as discipleship and CHE home visits.

How to Pray for Them

1) For the local leaders (Juma, Martin, and Binaica) as they continue to evangelize and disciple their people. 2) Ever extending impact and health in the people of Pajok. 3) The Lord will give them sight and a heart to take the Gospel and wholistic ministry to other communities.

Church Planter Training

What They Do

For the past several years, MeadowBrook has had a great opportunity to train about 20 South Sudanese church planters/pastors. The training of the initial group has been completed and a new group will begin later this year. The 2 year training includes theology, Old & New Testament survey, how to prepare for and deliver sermons, evangelism and discipleship strategies, and pastoral care and leadership. Through these efforts we have seen dozens of churches planted with many more to be planted in the future and thousands of lives that will be impacted for the gospel.

How to Pray for Them

1) For understanding of the training that they will be equipped with and the ability to put it into practice in their lives. 2) For open doors of relationships in the various contexts in which they live so that churches would have fertile ground to be planted in. 3) Increased faith in them and in their families as they will be on the front lines of spiritual warfare against tribal religions and Islam.

Manny Tucen

Manny is a missionary in the Dominican Republic, who focuses on planting churches and discipleship. He has a pastor’s heart for people and a deep, long standing relationship with MeadowBrook. He has been instrumental in many of MeadowBrook’s partnerships in the Dominican through the years.

1) The pastors that he has invested in as he hands off leadership of churches to them, that God would grow those churches into strong, healthy churches with a missions heart. 2) His family as they continue to pour into others for the sake of the Gospel. 3) The Lord’s direction as they seek Him for future ministry opportunities.

Dennis & Renda Curran

What They Do

Dennis and Renda are Christian Missionary Fellowship missionaries to Turkana, Kenya (northwest Kenya, bordering South Sudan). Dennis will be the Clean Water Coordinator for the region as part of the church planting team reaching the Turkana people. Community Health Evangelism (CHE) undergirds everything they do as they seek to build relationships and be used to bring wholistic transformation in communities in Kenya.

How to Pray for Them

1) Hearts of the Turkana people will be opened to the Gospel (85% have never heard of Jesus). 2) Holy Spirit to reduce tribal conflicts that have proved to be deadly throughout their history. 3) Reliance upon God for Dennis and Renda and not on themselves.

Juma Emmanuel

What They Do

Juma is a CHE trainer and church planter in South Sudan. He regularly invests into other men to help him lead the efforts in Pajok and the surrounding area. Through his leadership a new church was planted in an area known as Bobi in 2015 where they have seen numerous people place their faith in Jesus.

How to Pray for Them

1) For the spiritual and physical growth of the church in Bobi, that it will make a great impact on their community for the sake of the Gospel 2) For wisdom as he invests in and raises up leaders to lead new churches and kingdom efforts 3) For his family to be strengthened and protected against spiritual attacks that may come against them

Ryan Unger

What They Do

Ryan is a MAF pilot that formerly served in South Sudan, but is transitioning with his family to the island nation of Madagascar to serve on MAF’s team in that part of Africa. MAF flies missionaries and partners into remote areas that are in need of the Gospel so that transformation through the power of Christ will take place in the lives of many throughout the world.

How to Pray for Them

1) For his wife and children as they adjust to life in a new country 2) For protection for Ryan and his passengers as he carries teams to take the Gospel to remote locations 3) For good relationships with his new national neighbors in Madagascar, that he might have opportunity to share the Gospel with them

Moses Mutebi

What They Do

Moses is the chaplain at Bethel Covenant College in Entebbe, Uganda. He gives spiritual oversight and guidance for over 700 students who attend the school. MeadowBrook’s own, Karen Adams, works alongside Moses when she is in Uganda seeking to evangelize and disciple as many of the students as possible.

How to Pray for Them

1) For strength and endurance as he sacrifices much personally for the sake of pouring into the students 2) For wisdom to give godly council as he walks beside students facing a variety of issues 3) That the hearts and minds of the students would be opened to the truth and beauty of the Gospel, leading them to surrender their lives to Jesus

Karen Adams

What They Do

Karen is a MeadowBrook missionary working in Africa, primarily Uganda. While in Uganda, she teaches the Word of God, counsels and disciples students at Bethel Covenant College. She has also been involved in CHE trainings in South Sudan and later this year in Tanzania as well.
